A school's petition for the building of a bridge over the River Swale is one of the items contained in a time capsule buried in the new crossing. Memorabilia now buried deep in one of the main piers also includes pictures and newsletters about the construction. Cheyne School, Sheerness, documented the building of the second bridge between the Isle of Sheppey and Kent. Transport minister David Jamieson said the �100m crossing would help to regenerate the north Kent area.
