Kent Police will start their dog breeding scheme shortly
A police dog breeding programme is being launched in Kent to meet the increased demand for sniffer dogs.

Senior police officers from across the UK have reported an increased need for trained dogs to sniff out explosives and illegal substances.

The Association of Chief Police Officers is consulting forces in the UK about a national breeding centre.

Kent Police has planned ahead and said it will soon open one at its canine centre in Stockbury, Sittingbourne.
