Buffy fans' marathon effort

Money raised will help with vets bills at the animal centre
Two fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer are watching every episode of the cult show to raise money for charity.

A-level students Sam Stopes and Alex Gregg from Maidstone, in Kent, have nearly completed the two-week stint of watching the hit American programme.

Apart from a one hour lunch break and eight hours sleep the girls spend their days glued to the television.

They watch about 16 episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin off, Angel, every day.

Money raised from the Buffy watching marathon will go to the Cavey Animal Rescue Centre in Rochester.

Sometimes we don't even know what day it is

The cash will help with veterinary bills, bedding and food for animals such as guinea pigs and rats which are helped at the centre.

Sam said: "First of all it was really hard because you got up in the morning after lying on the floor all day and had a really bad back.

"Some days we had a headache from watching television all day."

Alex said: "Sometimes we don't even know what day it is."

The girls are due to complete their task on Saturday.
