Land project to bring job boost

There have been investment enquiries about the area

Up to 10,000 jobs could be created as part of a massive development project for land in North Lincolnshire.

The South Humber Bank, which covers an area of almost four square miles, is one of the largest single development sites for employment in the north.

North Lincolnshire Council is expected to approve plans to set up a board to to help attract national and international investment.

The council said it had already had investment enquiries for the area.

The authority wants to create a South Humber Gateway Board, which would include council officials and representatives from Yorkshire Forward and the Government Office for Yorkshire and The Humber.

Councillor Mark Kirk, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: "There is no doubt that the successful and sustainable development of the South Humber Bank is key to the long-term prosperity of North Lincolnshire.

"The area has a major role to play in attracting inward investment, creating jobs and helping this part of the UK to thrive."
