The city of Hull, recently derided as the worst place to live in the UK, can at least boast to having the country's best football ground. Hull's KC stadium has topped a poll of 3,000 supporters who were asked to rate grounds for comfort, services and view.
Fans prefer visiting Manchester, with Old Trafford and the City of Manchester stadium coming first and second in a list of their favourite venues.
But the grounds did not feature in the poll based on standards for supporters.
The 25,000-seater KC Stadium, surrounded by parkland, was opened in December 2002 and is home to Hull City and Hull FC rugby league club.

Supporters also ranked the stadium ninth in a list of their favourite venues, first in the list of most improved and seventh for one of the most important aspects - good value food.
Geoff Aucock, of Drivers Jonas property consultancy, which works on new stadium projects, said: "When fans vote with their heads the newer-built stadia are hard to beat.
"But when it comes to their hearts the nation is clearly very fond of Manchester United and its Theatre of Dreams.
"The design of stadia in the eyes of the fans is not a simple matter of paying the most for the best stadium."
In addition to Hull's venue, new stadiums built in Sunderland, Derby, Reading, Southampton and Bolton were all ranked in the top 10 of the country's best grounds.
