Factory workers in Grimsby and Aberdeen have been told their jobs are safe after the sale of Cavaghan and Gray Seafood by its owners. Northern Foods announced on Thursday that the division had been sold for �12.6m to IFP Holdings, a subsidiary of Icelandic Group Plc.
Cavaghan and Gray Seafood employs 2,300 people and also has a sites in Carlisle.
Northern Foods said the proceeds will be used to reduce group debt.
