Patients face higher parking fee
Staff, visitors and patients at two northern Lincolnshire hospitals face a rise in parking fees from Monday.

The Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby has put its parking fees up by 50p to 1.50 per visit.

At Scunthorpe General Hospital, patients face a 1 rise to 1.50 and staff will be charged 4 a month to use a specially-created car park.

Trust spokeswoman Rachel Macdonald said: "These moves will allow us to improve car parking and security."

The charges would generate funds for the introduction of CCTV systems and 24-hour security patrols, she added.

"It is the first increase since charges were introduced several years ago [at the Grimsby site], and compares favourably with the charges at other sites in the town," Ms Macdonald said.
