 Clean water supplies were disrupted in many homes |
More than 5,000 homes in East Yorkshire have had their water supplies disrupted after a water main was damaged on Thursday morning. Many homes had little more than a trickle of dirty brown water coming from their taps. Emergency repair works are being carried out on the damaged main and Yorkshire Water say they aim to have the supply restored within hours. A Yorkshire Water spokesman said that despite the discolouration, the water is safe to drink.
