A lucky hamster was plucked from the jaws of death by a passing police officer in Worcestershire. Pc Simon Wills was in his patrol car in Fordhouse Road in Bromsgrove on Monday night when he saw the rodent being pursued by a cat.
He managed take the animal safely back to the town's police station, where a temporary bed was made for it.
Despite attempts to trace the owners, nobody has come forward. Pc Wills is now caring for the hamster at home.
