| People in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire who are deaf, or have speech and hearing difficulties, can now text 999 calls. The police, fire and ambulance services in the three counties launched the service on Monday morning. The system has been developed with the Royal National Institute for the Deaf and the charity Deaf Direct. Police are warning that anyone caught sending a hoax text could face a fine of �2,500.
