Community police station to open
A new community-based police station is due to officially open in Hereford.

Beat managers and community support officers will be based at South Wye police station, as well as the Hereford City and Rural Geographical Commander.

A front counter service will be available to people between 1000 and 1400 BST for six days a week.

It is hoped the station, which has been built on the old Vortex site in Newton Farm, will enable more officers to become integrated in the area.

The former Lord-Lieutenant for Worcestershire, Sir Thomas Dunne, will open the building on Friday.
