Petition urges more school funding
Helen Donovan with her two daughters
Mrs Donovan said her petition was just 'the tip of the iceberg'
A parent from Evesham will deliver a 2,300 signature petition to the government calling for more money for education in Worcestershire.

Helen Donovan is going to Whitehall with a delegation of senior school staff, and governors, along with Mid Worcestershire MP Peter Luff.

She will hand the petition to schools minister David Milliband on Wednesday.

Mrs Donovan started to collect signatures for the petition after the county came second from bottom in the Government tables for funding per pupil.

She said children in the county had suffered long enough and the government could not ignore what was happening.

"I'm not going to stop collecting signatures, this is just the tip of the iceberg," she said.

"There are still a lot more people to ask and it's not just limited to parents, it's in everyone's interests in the area to get this funding."
