Neighbour cuts water supply
Cara Nash
Cara Nash has to fill her toilet with bottles of water

Two families in Worcester are facing 10 days without a water supply after their neighbour accidentally turned off the stop-tap before going on holiday.

Severn Trent Water say they cannot get in to the house in Middle Road, St Johns, to turn it back on because they do not have permission from the home owner.

As a result, people living in three homes in the street are being forced to rely on family and friends for fresh water.

Cara Nash's home is one of those affected and she has appealed to anyone with a key to her neighbour's house or a contact number to get in touch as soon as possible.

'Temporary supplies'

She told the BBC'S Midlands Today programme: "Normal household things are just impossible really.

"We are having to go outside and fill up a bucket and take it in. Its a long old walk up to the top of the house where the bathroom is so its getting a bit difficult."

Severn Trent said it would be breaking and entering if it tried to gain entry to the house.

The company's Kate Cox said: "In the meantime, we have been able to rig up some temporary supplies to the neighbouring properties and hopefully that will get them by.

"Its not ideal but it will get them through the next 10 days."
