Virtual club helps busy readers
Two people reading
The website allows people to reserve books online from libraries
A new virtual reading club has been launched to allow book lovers to meet and discuss favourite books online.

The Turn The Page club is intended to appeal to those who do not have time to attend a regular event.

It features a different book each month to read and discuss online, and also carries links to 'real world' reading groups, booklists and useful sites.

The Hampshire County Council service also links to the county's libraries - letting readers reserve books online.

June's book of the month is Leslie Thomas's Waiting for D-Day.

The council's recreation and heritage boss, Councillor John Waddington, said: "With people today leading such busy lives, it is important that we make our services as accessible and convenient to use as possible.

"We hope it will encourage more people to share in the joys of reading with others."
