Biker deaths frustrate officers
Frustrated police officers say bikers are not heeding warnings about safe riding on Hampshire's roads.

Despite high-profile campaigns, the county's traffic officers say riders continue to ride too fast.

Patrols are out in force along the A339, A272 and the A32 in the West Meon area of the county throughout the weekend.

The latest campaign comes after four people died in bike collisions in the last month.

The force's Bikesafe campaign co-ordinator, Pc Mick Gear, said: "It's worrying to see the number of serious offences that we've detected despite all our warnings to motorcyclists over the past few weeks.

"These patrols are well publicised and are aimed at encouraging people to take more care on the roads.

"Motorcyclists themselves need to take responsibility and ride sensibly, within their capability and within the law."
