Ten inmates were transferred from Haslar on Tuesday |
About 30 inmates at an immigration detention centre in Hampshire have been involved in rioting in which an officer was injured. Emergency response teams were sent to take control of the seven-hour stand-off at the Haslar Immigration Removal Centre, near Gosport, which began just before 2100 BST on Monday.
One member of staff was taken to hospital for a minor head injury, and others suffered minor cuts and bruising.
Damage was caused to a large dormitory which remains closed.
It is not yet clear what the detainees were protesting about.
Ten inmates were transferred to the Dover Immigration Centre on Tuesday morning.
Earlier this year several inmates at the centre started a brief hunger strike in protest at being kept in what they claimed were bad conditions.
