A former Premiership footballer has been charged with drink-driving and failing to stop after an accident on a motorway in Hampshire.

Claus Lundekvam, 36, of Southampton, is accused of being over the drink-drive limit after a crash involving his Audi car and a van near Winchester on 6 May.

The Norwegian retired last year due to injury after 12 years at Southampton in the Premier and Championship leagues.

He is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on 28 May.
