Railways facing Easter shutdown
Rail passengers in the South are facing massive disruption this Easter as Network Rail carries out major engineering work in Hampshire.

All railway lines going through Basingstoke will be shut for repairs from 6 - 15 April.

Trains from Salisbury, Winchester, Southampton and Bournemouth normally use the line so travellers are warned to expect extensive delays.

Commuters will have to use buses for part of their journeys.

Network Rail said First Great Western and South West Train services will be replaced by road transport while Virgin trains will be diverted via Guildford.

People are being warned to expect delays of between 60 - 70 minutes.
