Former soldiers brave the weather to gather for the special reunion

Family members and former soldiers gathered in Gosport on Wednesday morning for a reunion, despite the wind and heavy downpours.

Following a ceremony in the Falkland Gardens, the veterans were awarded the freedom of the town.

The gardens boast a memorial stone unveiled eight years ago to mark the 15th anniversary of the conflict.

The Falkland Veterans Foundation (FVF) organised the event along with Gosport Borough Council.

The FVF is the first UK-based charity for Falklands veterans and their families.

The Falklands war had a massive impact on the naval town of Gosport, with many of the servicemen who took part in the conflict living in the town.
