A man faces driving charges after the death
A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a toddler was killed on a beach by a car.

Maximillian Holden Young, two, died after a BMW fell 12ft (4m) from a car park above Yaverland Beach, near Sandown on the Isle of Wight in July.

Paul Cambray, 44, of Great Preston Road in Ryde, was also charged on Monday with dangerous driving, GBH without intent and driving without a licence.

He will appear at Isle of Wight magistrates' court on 30 December.

Maximillian and his parents were visiting the Isle of Wight from their home in Fulham, west London.

A post-mortem examination found he suffered a fractured skull, a broken spine and massive internal injuries.

His 42-year-old father was also trapped under the car and suffered a broken pelvis and severe burns.
