Cricket ground plans are altered

The scheme would make the ground fit to continue hosting England matches

Planners will alter their scheme for a 20,000-seat stadium for Bristol's Gloucestershire County Cricket ground following local objections.

In a consultation, residents said they were worried about parking and plans for more student accommodation.

Gloucestershire Cricket Club say they will re-visit parking plans and reduce student housing.

The ground has a current maximum of 16,000 seats for one-day international matches with temporary additions.

For international cricket to continue at the ground Gloucestershire County Cricket Club must provide a minimum of 18,000 seats for bigger matches.

Nearby residents are invited to attend an exhibition of the new plans at the club on 5 September 2009 between 1000 BST and 1300 BST.
