Towns count the cost of flooding
Tewkesbury during the floods
The survey will be carried over two weeks
A house-to-house survey of flood-damaged property is due to begin in Cheltenham and Tewkesbury.

From Monday, staff from both borough councils will visit residents affected by the recent flooding.

The county-wide survey is part of a project to assess the scale of damage to property and likely financial impact of the floods.

The government has set a two-week timetable to gather data to use as the basis for flood relief payments.

"We need to gather accurate information as quickly as possible so that we can secure vital funding from government for residents," said Chris Huckle Cheltenham Borough Council's deputy Chief Executive.
