Flood-abandoned homes protected
Police are boosting patrols of homes near Gloucester, which were abandoned after last week's flooding to prevent criminal damage or break-ins.

The 42 families at Cypress Gardens in Longlevens who were affected, have been told it could be six months before they are allowed to return.

Severn Trent said there was a fault with a nearby pumping station which may have added to the flooding problem.

Residents had expressed concerns about the security of their homes.
