Five people were arrested in the raids |
Four homes in Gloucestershire have been raided in an investigation into people-smuggling. Dozens of police searched houses in Cheltenham on Tuesday as part of Operation Pentameter, a nationwide crackdown on human trafficking.
Five people were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in, or assisting in, the running of a brothel.
The properties are suspected of having been used to house the victims of people-smuggling.
Operation Pentameter is a multi-agency initiative involving the police, the travel industry, government and partner groups across the UK and Europe.
It was launched earlier this year by Dr Timothy Brain, Chief Constable of Gloucestershire police.
