A team of nocturnal cleaners are taking to the streets of Gloucester to steam and scrub the city's streets. Residents who took part in a "People's Budget" vote to decide how the council spent 50,000 of its cash opted to use the money to pay for extra cleaners.
Now a group of workers will be touring the city centre three nights a week.
A council spokeswoman said: "Doing the work at night is a great way to keep the city clean without disruption to traders and shoppers."
The team will be responsible for washing litter bins and benches as well as removing chewing gum and seagull mess from the streets.
