The council says the cameras have been a success on other routes |
CCTV cameras are to be fitted to more school buses in Gloucestershire to combat bullying and bad behaviour. The Big Brother-style surveillance equipment was introduced on four buses in the Stroud Valley last year after problems caused accidents.
Now the scheme is to be expanded, with three more vehicles fitted with cameras at a cost of 10,000.
The buses will travel on routes around Gloucester, Cheltenham and Bishops Cleeve.
Gloucestershire County Councillor Stan Waddington said: "Where the equipment has been fitted already, a significant reduction in incidents has been noted.
"Pupils have welcomed the extra security which CCTV provides."
