The 147-mile swim will begin in Lechlade, Gloucestershire
A man who plans to swim the River Thames from Gloucestershire to London will set off on his 147-mile journey on Monday morning.

Andy Nation, from Hertfordshire, hopes to make it from Lechlade to Teddington in nine days, covering about 15 to 20 miles a day.

The 55-year-old is doing it to raise money for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust's screening programme.

Mr Nation has already collected more than 12,000 for the charity.

He expects to have an average speed of one-and-a-half miles an hour.

A seasoned fundraiser, the father-of-three, has carried out numerous charity stunts including wingwalking and racing around the capital cities of Europe.
