160k hill fort repairs completed
Kimsbury Camp
Kimsbury Camp has suffered considerable erosion over the years
A 160,000 restoration project has been completed at an Iron Age hill fort on Painswick Beacon, Gloucestershire.

Urgent repairs were carried out to stop erosion of the ramparts at Kimsbury Camp, built between 400 and 100 BC.

New information boards were also installed as part of the year-long project, organised by Gloucestershire Council Archaeological Service.

"People visiting will now be able to learn more about the history of the site," a spokesman said.

The scheme was funded by organisations including the Heritage Lottery Fund, English Heritage and English Nature.
