Princess Michael of Kent is taking part in a TV documentary which follows her as she tries to sell her Gloucestershire mansion. Nether Lypiatt, a Grade 1-listed manor house, is set in 16 acres near Stroud and has an asking price of �6m.
The Prince and Princess Michael of Kent bought the house in 1980 for about �300,000. It is rumoured a �5m offer by artist Damien Hirst was rejected.
The royal couple are now expected to live permanently at Kensington Palace.
Filming has started on the hour-long documentary which follows the princess as she tries to sell the 18th century mansion.
Three barns, garaging and stabling for nine horses, plus gardens, grounds and paddocks are included in the sale. The house has eight bedrooms and four staff apartments.
Prince Michael of Kent is the Queen's cousin.
