The waste management team at Gloucestershire County Council has been praised by the Audit Commission. A new report has given the service a maximum three-star rating, citing its recycling and composting schemes as contributing to the success.
The report added that the council "continually reassesses its service" and "listens to the public".
County Councillor Stan Waddington said: "We are pleased with the findings of the report."
The report also highlighted the council's household recycling centres, which have increased the amount of items they can process.
