 Blackadder is proving popular |
A dentist in Gloucester is distracting patients from his drill by showing them DVDs on special spectacles. Visitors to 27-year-old Alex Michael's Roseville House Dental Practice can watch their favourite film during drilling and root canal work.
In the first six months of using the glasses, patients have been opting for shows such as Blackadder.
The glasses cost 300 and are hooked up to a laptop or DVD player.
'Better for me'
Mr Michael, who has been a qualified dentist for two years, said: "Anything that can make people comfortable and relaxed during a filling in a molar is great.
"We all know what it's like when you are in the chair - you are just thinking about the drill and the pain.
"But these glasses help to take people's minds off it and the sound cancels out all the noise of the work.
"It is better for them and better for me."
