Thousands gathered for mass worship at the festival |
Thousands of Christians gathered in Cheltenham for an annual festival of faith. The Greenbelt event at the town's racecourse featured music, worship, talks from a wide range of speakers - including Steve Biko's son - and a speed-dating service.
Now in its 30th year, the four-day bank holiday festival's theme was peace and justice.
About 15,000 tickets were sold.
The organisers said: "People at Greenbelt invite God to be present in every aspect of the weekend. And you never know what this invitation might mean.
"We even believe that Jesus wants to meet you personally over the weekend, and that this might be a life-changing experience if you're open to it."
Archbishop patron
On Saturday, Greenbelt announced the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams was to become the festival's patron.
"This is wonderfully exciting news and we are absolutely thrilled," said Greenbelt chair Jude Levermore.
"Dr Williams will be the most wonderful figurehead for the festival and we are delighted to be able to announce this news actually during the festival itself."
Dr Williams last spoke at Greenbelt last year.
