Pupil protestor to meet headteacher
Elena Grice
Elena Grice organised a demonstration outside her school

A teenager, banned from school for organising an anti-war protest, is due to meet with her headteacher on Tuesday to discuss her future studies.

Elena Grice, 15, was suspended from the Helena Romanes School in Dunmow, Essex, for 30 days following the demonstration.

But a High Court judge has ordered that she be allowed to sit her GCSEs, but upheld the ruling of her 30-day suspension.

Headteacher Stephen Smith said the youngster would also be returning to the school to revise.

Elena, from Rayne, Essex, was the main organiser of a demonstration involving 500 people against the war in Iraq.

This took place on a grass area outside the school on 20 March.
