Man in hospital after bar fight
A man has been left in a critical condition in hospital following an alleged kidnap and assault in Ilford.

It comes after a fight, in the early hours of Sunday morning, between about 20 men at the Icon Bar in the town's High Road.

Later that day, a teenager was found in a semi-conscious state in a river.

At about 1200 BST on Sunday, police were called after a dog walker saw an 18-year-old man in the River Roding at Wanstead.

He was suffering from severe shock and was semi-conscious.

He had facial, neck, shoulder and abdomen injuries and suspected hypothermia.

He was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Detectives believe the man was involved in the incident in the High Road earlier that day, but have no information about how he came to be in the river. All those involved were Sri Lankan.
