Up to 50 jobs are to be cut at a Devon factory which makes and sells hydraulic pumps and motors. Plymouth-based Kawasaki Precision Machinery announced the job losses to its workforce of 273 earlier on Friday. The site is the sales, marketing and manufacturing centre for hydraulic components for Europe, India and the Middle East, Africa and Australia. The firm has blamed the planned job cuts on the recession which it says has led to a reduction in orders.
