Woman, 66, is airlifted off cliff

The RAF helicopter airlifted two people off Higher Sharpnose Point

Two people, one of them a woman with a broken leg, have been airlifted from a cliff in north Devon.

An RAF rescue helicopter from RMB Chivenor was called out to Higher Sharpnose Point, near Mortwenstow, to assist the pair.

The 66-year-old, from Camelford, and an uninjured companion were taken to North Devon District Hospital.

Sgt Ryan Thomas of the crew said: "Due to the location, we put her in a splint and airlifted her to the helicopter."
