Paul Wotton and Chris Zebroski flew back with squad on Sunday |
Plymouth Argyle have launched an internal investigation into a fracas involving two players at a training camp in Austria. Captain Paul Wotton and striker Chris Zebroski were involved in an altercation at a restaurant in Loipersdorf on Saturday night.
Wotton, 28, and the rest of the squad flew back from Austria to Stansted on Sunday.
The BBC understands that Zebroski, 19, took a separate flight.
The incident followed a successful pre-season training programme.
The team said in a statetment: "Argyle can confirm that there was an incident involving two of our players at our training base in Austria on Saturday evening.
"This incident resulted in one player receiving hospital treatment.
"Circumstances surrounding the incident will be the subject of an internal club disciplinary enquiry.
"Until that enquiry is completed, Argyle will be making no further comment."
It is unlikely either player will appear in Tuesday night's friendly against South West rivals Yeovil Town at Home Park.
