Drivers alerted to sat-nav thefts
Drivers who have satellite navigation systems in their cars have been told to protect their property.

The warning has been issued by Devon and Cornwall Police, who said 99 sat-navs were stolen between October 2005 and March 2006.

The figures include thefts from homes and vehicles. In Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly 17 units were stolen and 82 systems were taken in Devon.

Police said motorists should follow the usual crime-prevention advice.

A spokesman said: "Like your navigation system, we want you to take the right direction - don't leave any valuables unattended in your car."
