MP proposes maximum water charge
A top limit on water and sewerage charges is being proposed by a Devon MP in a bill to be introduced in the Commons on Wednesday.

Torbay MP Adrian Sanders the increase in charges since privatisation means bills in the South West of �450 and more are hitting pensioners.

He wants a maximum of 3% of household income going on water.

The bill is unlikely to become law, but Mr Sanders says its important the issue is kept on the agenda.
