A Devon milk and clotted cream supplier has been bought by the Glasgow-based Robert Wiseman dairies for 800,000. Definitely Devon operates as a co-operative of 21 dairy farmers who each hold shares in the firm.
The Torrington-based supplier started in 1996 and processes around 20m litres of milk a year.
The sale includes a license for Wiseman to sell milk under the Definitely Devon brand and manufacture and distribute Torridge Vale cream.
Wiseman currently supplies around 1.3bn litres and has 22% of the market in Great Britain.
Robert Wiseman, chief executive, said: "This acquisition will enhance our existing operations and efficiencies in the South West of England.
"It compliments our planned expansion in this area with our proposed custom built dairy in the Taunton area."
He said the sale would not affect the quality of the products.
