SW airports suffer fewer delays
Exeter Airport
Many Exeter flights are delayed by no more than 30 minutes
Services at South West airports are returning to normal after cancellations caused by the airport terror alert.

Scheduled flights from Plymouth are on time. There have been some delays to flights at Exeter Airport, but many are no more than half an hour.

Newquay's services to and from Stansted were cancelled at the weekend. However, the airport said everything else has run pretty much to time.

Meanwhile, 50,000 holidaymakers are expected in the region this weekend.

Although many flights at Exeter Airport have been delayed by no more than half an hour, some flights from Scotland on Saturday arrived about two hours late.

RyanAir cancelled its Newquay to Stansted flights on Saturday and Sunday. Passengers are advised to contact RyanAir for a refund or to re-schedule journeys.

Police have maintained an increased presence at airports.

At Bristol International Airport only aeroplane passengers are being allowed into the terminal and passengers are advised to check the airport's website before travelling.

Meanwhile, about 50,000 people are expected to be in the South West this weekend as the holiday season continues.

The Highways Agency said traffic officers would be monitoring conditions on the road.

The airport terror alert started after police said they disrupted a plot to blow up UK flights to the US.

Suspects were arrested by police across Britain. Anti-terror officers are continuing to quiz 22 people.
