A large Devon post office is being relocated about 100 yards (91.4m) to a local supermarket. The Ridgeway branch, one of the largest in Plymouth with a full range of counter services, will transfer to the Plymco supermarket in February.
The Post Office said the move was necessary to safeguard the long-term future of the branch in Plympton.
It has not yet revealed what will happen to the existing site, which is in a prime commercial location.
Customers had raised concerns about whether the supermarket could physically accommodate the branch, but the Post Office said plans had been modified to create better access.
It said the new branch will be open for longer when it is up and running from 16 February.
