Mini-bike riders call for track
Mini-motos
Minimotos can cost as little as 100
More than 100 minimoto enthusiasts have signed a petition calling on Torbay council to help them set up a purpose-built race track.

They say there are no facilities in Devon and Cornwall, and a proper track is desperately needed.

Minimotos are small motorbikes which can cost as little as 100.

They have been growing in popularity, but have also caused problems when people ride them on roads and industrial estates.

Minimoto enthusiasts in Torbay have had an arrangement with Quay West in Paignton to use their Go Kart track at weekends.

It has proved very successful with an average of about 50 people turning up to race.

But with the onset of the summer season the facility will no longer be available.

So the Minimoto Club of Torbay is seeking the council's help in finding a site which could be turned into a permanent race track.
