Moor fire damages five hectares
About 30 firefighters were called out to deal with a gorse fire which broke out on a Devon moor.

Five hectares were damaged by the flames at Cripdon Down, near Manaton, on Dartmoor on Saturday evening.

Crews were sent from Bovey Tracey, Moretonhampstead, Chagford, Ashburton and Totnes after the brigade's control centre was alerted at about 1900 GMT.

The fire was extinguished using beaters within two hours of the crews arriving on the scene.
