Tiny motorcycles spark complaints

Police say people involved in a collision could be seriously injured
People using tiny motorbikes in a Devon city are being told to think twice following a number of complaints about their use.

Devon and Cornwall Police and Plymouth City Council say they are increasingly concerned about the way the mini-motos are being used.

A mini-moto looks like a motorbike and is powered by a petrol engine, but can be just 30cm high.

Police say they are not road-legal and should only be used on private land.

Authorities say they have received numerous complaints about the vehicles being used in parks, car parks, and park and ride sites.

There are also safety concerns with young people using them on roads, pavements and other public places without helmets, other protective clothing or training.

Police say a collision involving one of the machines could result in serious injuries.
