Conrad 'all at sea' for birthday
Conrad Humphreys
Conrad Humphreys: Currently in seventh place
Plymouth skipper Conrad Humphreys - who is currently in seventh position in the Vendee Globe yacht race - is celebrating his 32nd birthday at sea.

The hi-tech equipment aboard means he can receive birthday messages from family, friends and from fans following his progress around the globe.

He is expected to cross the finish line in Les Sables d'Olonne, France, next week after more than 100 days at sea.

Humphreys says he is looking forward to being at the Azores on his birthday.

He said: "Being at the Azores on my birthday is quite nice. I've got a friend who has a house there and he keeps on inviting me over to visit for a holiday.

"Sadly this time I won't be able to join him for a beer on the beach."

Five yachts have already finished the race and the sixth is expected to cross the finish line on Sunday.
