Celebs make art for Dart's sake
A Darth Vader dragonfly doodle drawn by the first actor to play the Dark Lord is one of a number of doodles created to help a Devon wildlife charity.

Devon Wildlife Trust has received doodles from more than 150 famous people, including Dave Prowse, in aid of the Dart Catchment Project.

The likes of Phil Collins, Katie Melua and Frank Skinner have painted, drawn or doodled a dragonfly.

They will be auctioned on the internet to raise funds for the project.

'Great response'

Before that a special preview of the best 20 doodles will go on display at this year's Dart Water Festival at The Longmarsh, Totnes, on 10 September.

DWT Fundraising Officer Amanda Sherwin said: "We've had such a great response and some really brilliant pictures.

"Many of them must have taken hours to create. One of the best has to be the Darth Vader dragonfly by Dave Prowse.

This is much more than just a collection of doodles, there's a real empathy for the conservation work we are trying to fund."

The Dart Catchment Project is a three-year scheme which aims to develop techniques in how to manage the river for wildlife, local people, industry and farmers.
