A green energy power station is already in the pipeline |
Proposed plans for a second power station at Winkleigh in north Devon have come to light. Villagers are already fighting plans for a biomass plant - which uses natural waste to generate power.
But now another company has submitted plans for a power station at a nearby location, prompting increased fears among residents.
About 150 people attended a public meeting on Sunday arranged by the parish council to air their concerns.
Dual applications
Sunday's meeting heard concerns about traffic, noise, emissions, and the effect on the environment, wildlife and tourism industry.
It heard Peninsula Power say it would submit its planning application to the District Council on the 15 October.
Now it has emerged that another planning application for a separate power station venture has been submitted to the council's planning department.
A technicality has delayed the unnamed company's application registration with Torridge District Council.
