Carl Currey: Fled as he was due for parole
Police hunting a prisoner who escaped from his guard while on a visit to the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, fear he may have left the country.

Carl Currey, 37, an inmate at Channings Wood Prison, near Newton Abbot in Devon, absconded after he got away from his prison officer escort in February.

Extensive searches have been carried out for Currey in Devon and in Surrey, where he is originally from.

But police say he has links on the continent and may have gone abroad.

Currey was due for parole after being convicted in 2000 of wounding with intent.
