New train services for county
First Great Western train
The winter timetable comes into effect at the end of September
First Great Western Trains has announced some extra weekday services in Devon later this year.

For the first time in a number of years the Torbay Express, which calls at Torquay and Paignton, will continue during the winter.

The Cornish Riviera service, which takes passengers from Plymouth to London Paddington, is also being speeded up by 22 minutes.

Extra stops are also to be made at Totnes and Newton Abbot on the London route.

The winter timetable comes into effect at the end of this month.

Details of weekend services have not yet been released, but it is expected there will be problems for passengers due to engineering work.

Colin Griffin, from the West of England Rail Passengers Committee, described the weekday timetable as "good news".
